What is the Life Your Were Born To Live?

In my private practice for the past 15 years I have discovered how hungry we are to find deep fulfillment and loving' make wise choices for ourselves and the planet' and walk in union with our higher guidance.

Yet our days are filled with endless' empty lists of have-tos' shoulds' and must-dos. Quality time with our families' friends and ourselves is precious but brief. We swallow our food fast and information faster - and yet what our mind tells us does not bring us peace' and what we eat does not fill us up.

Ask yourself' what truly brings you lasting fulfillment and joy? What can you feed yourself that creates deep satisfaction? Which voice do you listen to for guidance when the hounds of fear' worry and anxiety are howling in your ears?

I believe this 'missing' enthusiasm and joy is found when we discover our personal heaven and begin living heaven on earth.

Accustomed to your ordinary world view' you fail to realize that another might exist beyond the dots of your to-do lists. Life presents many opportunities' each one capable of expanding your 'seeing' to encompass new possibilities.

I saw a major glimpse of my 'heaven' in 1987 during a 6 day personal growth seminar. At the time I was living a life many considered heavenly: happy marriage' two beautiful children' wealthy lifestyle' and plenty of time to pursue my fancies. Yet' in the wee hours of the morning my secret despair' loneliness and fear woke me up night after night. Inside I knew the lie of my 'happy' life. I did not know the purpose for taking my next breath. At the seminar when the facilitator began talking about the banquet table of life I suddenly beheld this larger way of living' this glimpse of heaven.

I wanted to bolt for the door.

The fear of facing the unknown 'me' inside was' at that time' bigger than living out my lack-luster life. But this defining moment did not fade from my memory. In time' I began the sometimes scary journey of moving beyond the dot-based experience' visioning my heaven and taking my steps.

Your heaven lies lurking just beyond those dots. And it takes an inside job to fully experience it. But upon seeing a glimpse of this larger reality do you abandon your dot-based reality? No' because mastering the shift from 'This is all there is' to 'Look at all there is!" takes patience' practice' guidance' willingness' grace' and time.

You can begin today.

Take a few minutes over the next week - schedule it right now in your day timer of PDA.

*clear your desk
*turn off the phone
*light a candle
*have paper and pen available
*close your eyes
*take in a deep breath
*allow the greater part of you to begin showing you' like gazing at a large movie screen' YOU living your personal heaven.

Be aware of how you feel as you 'watch' each area of your life align with this expanded arena. What is the new experience of your

*relationships?
*finances?
*career?
*health?
*creativity?
*spirituality?

Jot down those qualities: peace' joy' loving' ease' well-being' energy' focus' caring' relaxation' radiant health' compassion... or fear' sadness' regret. Accept whatever appears.

Step Two: If your heaven is available now' what do you need to let go of in this moment to experience it?

Allow the answer to come forward easily.

Breathe in deeply and take that step. The life you were born to live is waiting.

The Big Key to Freedom

When our clients are exposed to our company' they are often impressed with how we really stress the concept of Freedom - and well they should be. Our central core value is Freedom' our web address is deliverfreedom.com' heck- it's the name of our company! At the same time I see that the vast majority of individuals I meet do not have the kind of professional or personal Freedom they really desire and deserve. Do you?

If you listen to our two-minute trainings (a practice I strongly encourage)' you may have heard me discussing what I call the "keys to Freedom" over the past few months. Last month was about having the right opportunity (click here to listen to past month's training tips.) This month's sound bite is about having or developing an effective system to unlock Freedom. Because it's just that critical' I wanted to devote this article to the biggest key of them all- making the right choices.

The role of our choices is central to how much Freedom we experience. In fact' we define Freedom as "the capacity to exercise choice"- and when I say exercise' I literally mean exercise like a muscle. The more you properly exercise a muscle's capacity to lift a weight' the larger that capacity grows' right? Same goes for your choices. The more you exercise your choices properly' the larger your capacity for choice grows. What we must be aware of in this analogy is two things:

1. Choice is inescapable. There is no such thing as not exercising choice. Whether you like it or not' you are always making choices' even when you choose not choose. As a result' the only possibilities are to exercise choice properly or improperly. There is no third alternative.

2. The consequences of our choices are also inescapable. When we exercise choice properly' our Freedom increases. When we exercise choice improperly' our Freedom decreases. There is no third alternative.

If you think about it' you'll see that this is true in every area of Life. As an example' if you make bad choices or no choices about your money' your financial Freedom will decrease. If you make good' proactive choices about money' your financial Freedom increases. I could give examples of this same cause/effect relationship in the physical' professional' spiritual' relationship and educational areas all day long' but you get my point. I encourage you and challenge you in the weeks to come' to be mindful of the choices you make every moment of every day and see the results they are giving you. You have the power to change your choices. When you do that' you change your Life immediately.

Is There Something Called Free Will

The statement ""The concept of free will is a fallacy"" is actually fallacious! How do you live your life? of course you live with free will. You decide what to eat for breakfast' what to wear today and so on. don't you? So how can you not be responsible for your actions?

Let us take a simple scenario to understand the fallacy behind this kind of reasoning. Assume you decide to wear a formal attire to office. And suddenly it starts raining' what do you do? You decide whether to go ahead with your formal wear or to wear casual attire better still call it a day' and end up sleeping in bed! Unfortunatelty' there was a surprise visit from your head office' and you were not available.Which leaves you with a black mark in your office. Normally you tend to blame "the rain" as the factor that caused all the problems.A careful dissection of the happennings will' help you understand the situation better' the intial choice you made was to wear a formal attire. And then "the rain"' the external factor influenced your choice. Remember you still had number of choices' but you chose to call it a day! Even when there were external factors affecting you had the choice to act in "n" different ways' and you chose what should happen. So how can you not take responsiblity for something that you have chosen?

Normally' people tend to blame "the rain" or rather the external factor for their wrong choices. It is actually a means by which people tend to escape from the guilty feeling of taking a wrong choice. This approach is ok' to the extent of soothing oneself' for having taken a choice that backfired. This approach is normally taken by people who hide behind a false reasoning' and fear to face the consequences of their actions. But this approach will not work in the long run' you just have to face reality' and take responsibilities of your actions.

In our day to day lives we encounter many such instances that tend to point that the root cause lies somewhere else. But on carefull analysis' the truth will evince that YOU are the reason behind your success or your failure. The "thoughts" you make today transform itself into the "actions" of tomorrow. Let us take another example' the Iraq war' why was it taken up? It was decided to strip of the terrorists. This issue has been the most highly debated topic in recent years. No matter whatever the consequences' the president took responsiblity for his actions and publically acknowledged the wrong assumption of the availability of the WMD( Weapons of Mass Destruction).

The normal human tendency is to blame others' they tend to make reasons' to escape from the bitterness of their wrong choices. As an unsophisticated human being it is acceptable' but in this modern world it is high time we start taking responsibilites for our actions. Let us face the world' without fear!

Finding Your Passion

Where does our motivation come from? What makes us want to strive for more?

It comes from our PASSION' and with out it what are we left with? We are left with our lives in a seemingly endless spin of unhappiness. When we no longer have passion in our lives we no longer want to strive to make our lives thrive.

This I understand clearly after 15 years.

In the early 1990s it took me five years to muster 34 credits at my local community college. I didn't have the passion for formal schooling at the time. Yes' five years' but it wasn't until my grandfather insisted that I transfer to a university that I started to completely understand how I felt about school and what my passion was for school. At that time' it took me four years to finish my undergraduate degree. I worked full time; I went to school fulltime taking full advantage of the university's online programs and was even able to be inducted into the honor society while raising my first daughter. PASSION.

After I graduated' I decided to continue and within three years I was able to obtain my first master degree and year later I had my second master degree' while now raising two daughters. PASSION.

Because of this passion' I've been very successful in school and furthering my career' but now I find my life changing because my passions are different. My formal schooling is complete and now it's time for me to redirect my passions.

I am going back to creative writing. Difficult for me because I've been doing technical and research writing for so long now' however it's my true passion.

At this moment in time' if you are not happy in whatever it is you are doing' it's not your true passion. Sometimes we get sucked into the myth that making more money' having a big expensive house' or driving the best luxury cars is our life's passion. It isn't. These things and objects make us comfortable' but do they really fill the voided holes we have in our lives? These things are fruits of our passionate labors' but they are not the passion itself. If you feel like you're in rut or you're not happy with your current situation. Change it and find your passion. Working towards your passion will make your life so much happier.

Find your passion and make it happen.
